Biography

Nikhil Munshi, M.D., Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He serves as the Assistant Director of the Division of Cardiology’s Physician Scientist Training Program and specializes in general cardiology. 

Dr. Munshi earned his medical degree and his doctorate in biochemistry at Columbia University. He completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in cardiology at UT Southwestern. In addition, he performed postdoctoral fellowships in molecular cardiology and developmental biology at Columbia and UT Southwestern. 

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2011. 

Dr. Munshi’s research focuses on cardiac rhythms in health and disease.

He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, the American Medical Association, the Dallas County Medical Society, and the Texas Medical Association.
