Biography

Parisa Ann Suthun, M.D., is an Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in infectious diseases, with a focus on HIV and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP).

A veteran of the United States Air Force, Dr. Suthun earned her medical degree at the University of Hawaii’s John A. Burns School of Medicine. She completed both her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in infectious diseases at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium.

She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine and infectious diseases.

After nine years of active-duty military service, she returned to Texas and took care of her fellow veterans for close to four years at the VA North Texas Health Care System, during which time she had a faculty appointment with UT Southwestern. After that, she worked in private practice for 12 years before rejoining the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023.

She is a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, the HIV Medical Association, the Texas Medical Association, and the Dallas County Medical Society.
