Biography
Preeti Sharma, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in cystic fibrosis care, asthma care, and hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia.
Dr. Sharma earned her medical degree at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. She performed her residency in pediatrics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where she also gained advanced training through a fellowship in pediatric pulmonary medicine. She then completed an additional fellowship in pediatric pulmonary medicine at the University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital, followed by a fellowship in medical ethics at the University of Chicago’s MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics.
Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics Certification in general pediatrics and pediatric pulmonology, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2010.
Among her other roles, Dr. Sharma is Co-Director of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Pediatric Center and its Therapeutic Drug Center. She also serves as Associate Director of UT Southwestern’s Pediatric Respiratory Medicine Fellowship and as a pediatric specialist for the Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia Center.
She has delivered national and regional invited lectures, contributed to the book Pediatric Board Study Guide: A Last-Minute Review, and published academic articles related to her areas of expertise. She serves as an ad hoc reviewer for Pediatric Pulmonology, Journal of Cystic Fibrosis, and Baylor University Medical Center Proceedings.

When she is not at work, Dr. Sharma enjoys reading, swimming, running, and spending time with her family.
