Biography

Raymond Quigley, M.D., is a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in pediatric nephrology.

Dr. Quigley earned his medical degree at the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He completed a residency in pediatrics at Children’s Medical Center Dallas, where he also gained advanced training through a fellowship in pediatric nephrology.

Board certified in pediatrics and pediatric nephrology, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 1991.

Dr. Quigley served as Medical Director of the Children’s Medical Center Dialysis Unit from 2006 to 2016 and Program Director for the Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship from 2011 to 2019. He is on the National Kidney Foundation of North Texas Medical Advisory Board and is Medical Director of the foundation’s Camp Reynal in Meridian, Texas.

He is a past Chair of the American Board of Pediatrics’ Nephrology Subboard and an active member of the Society for Pediatric Research, the American Society of Nephrology, the American Society of Pediatric Nephrology, the International Pediatric Nephrology Association, and the International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis.

Dr. Quigley’s clinical interests include renal tubular acidosis and other renal tubular disorders as well as Alport syndrome and acute care nephrology.

His research interests include the development of renal water transport and clinical aspects of dialysis. He is a reviewer for several scholarly journals and serves on the editorial board of Pediatric Nephrology.

Dr. Quigley has delivered numerous presentations, contributed to several books, and published more than 65 academic articles related to his areas of expertise.

Personal Note

Outside of work, Dr. Quigley enjoys playing the fiddle and juggling.
