Biography

Roma Mehta, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in advanced asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) treatments, airway-centric interstitial lung diseases, and general pulmonary medicine.

Dr. Mehta earned her medical degree at the University of Miami. She completed both her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at UT Southwestern.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2020.

Dr. Mehta’s research interests include advanced COPD treatment, airway-centric interstitial lung diseases, and biologics in asthma treatment, and she regularly delivers presentations related to these areas.

She is a member of the American Thoracic Society, the American Board of Internal Medicine, and the American College of Physicians, among other professional organizations.

Personal Note

Dr. Mehta’s interests outside of medicine include Bollywood dancing as a BollyX instructor, traveling, and listening to true-crime podcasts.
