Biography

Dr. Ruggiero is originally from Gouldsboro, Pennsylvania, and received her medical  degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. She then received training in Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern in Dallas, Texas, and went on there to complete a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. She joined faculty at UTSW and brings enthusiasm for general medical education both in internal medicine and pulmonary and critical care. She is specifically committed to resident and fellow training in both the intensive care unit and in general pulmonary medicine. Her research interests are in pulmonary hypertension and ICU outcomes, specifically in county hospitals. Dr. Ruggiero’s interests outside of medicine include running and biking, cooking, reading, and frequent travel.
