Biography

Russell Bryant has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the Department of Psychiatry at UT Southwestern Medical Center since 2022. He earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Sociology from the University of New Mexico and a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. Russell’s experience includes working in community mental health, inpatient treatment, and clinical leadership and program development. Prior to joining UT Southwestern, Russell provided services to pregnant and parenting women with addiction and trauma histories, worked with families, and led clinical teams providing culturally responsive services in rural communities. His work focuses on perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, and addiction. Russell is certified in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) by Postpartum Support International and is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. Russell’s approach to therapy applies trauma-informed and relationship-based methods to foster improved adaptive functioning, personal growth, and healing.
