Biography
Ruth Anne Herring, MSN, CPNP-AC/PC, is a certified pediatric nurse practitioner in the Department of Pediatrics - Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Ms. Herring completed her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas School of Nursing at Galveston in 1981 and then earned her Master of Science in Nursing in 1988 from the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. In 2015, she completed her post-Master's certificate for Pediatric Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from Rush University in Chicago, Illinois. She has worked in pediatric hematology and oncology since 1988, with a particular focus in pediatric leukemias and lymphomas, and histiocytic disorders. She served as lead editor for the national Association of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Nurses Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Curriculum, published in 2019.
