Biography
Salim Aljabari, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in pediatric critical care and neurocritical care.
Dr. Aljabari earned his medical degree at Al-Quds University Faculty of Medicine in Palestine. He completed a residency in pediatrics at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Amarillo, where he served as Chief Resident. He received advanced training through a pediatric critical care fellowship at the University of Utah/Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital.
He also earned a master’s degree in health administration at the University of Missouri.
Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in pediatric critical care medicine, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2026.
In addition to his areas of clinical specialization, Dr. Aljabari has a strong interest in implementation science. At UT Southwestern, he will help lead neurocritical care initiatives and the Pediatric Neurocritical Care Fellowship.
He is a member of multiple professional organizations, including the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the Pediatric Neurocritical Care Research Group, and the Neurocritical Care Society.
In addition to giving invited lectures, Dr. Aljabari has delivered numerous presentations and published academic articles related to his areas of expertise. He has served on several national committees in the fields of pediatric critical care and neurocritical care.
Personal Note
When he’s not at work, Dr. Aljabari enjoys reading nonfiction books and woodworking.
