Biography

Sara E. Moore, DNP, RN, PNP-BC, CPNP-AC, NNP Sara is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the Rees-Jones Center for Foster Care Excellence at Children's Health Plano. She has completed her Doctorate in Nursing, Masters in Primary Pediatrics and Post Masters Certificates with specialties in Neonatal Intensive Care and Acute Care Pediatrics. Sara has been a Children's Health employee since 2005-2020 and UTSW from 1/2021 and currently maintains a practice in the Rees-Jones Center for Foster Care Excellence at Children's Health Plano location. Her background includes providing care for the premature and newly born; providing acute care to children (birth to 21) who were the victims of traumatic injury at Children's Health Level 1 Trauma Center; and providing primary and acute care services for children who are fighting the battle of childhood cancer at Children's Health Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, Plano. Her position at the Rees-Jones Center for Foster Care Excellence is as a primary care provider. In this role, she strives to provide excellent health resources to the children that she serves, but also to provide emotional and structural supports to her foster families. The care provided at the Rees-Jones Center is interdisciplinary and holistic. Our goals are to improve the health and wellbeing of the child in foster care by improving their medical, mental, and emotional health. The Center strives to be a backbone for the foster care community and participates in many community and state initiatives aimed at improving the life of the child in foster care. Sara also maintains a faculty position, Clinical Assistant Professor, in the Primary/Acute/Family/Neonatal Nurse Practitioner master's level programs at the University of Texas at Arlington. Sara has an active family life with vivacious 13-year-old twins; is involved in the church and Girl Scouts; and has a love for travel and theater.
