Biography

Sarah Farkash, CPNP-AC, CCRN, is a board certified acute care pediatric nurse practitioner in the Department of Pediatrics - Pediatric Hematology & Oncology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She practices in the Pauline Allen Gill Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders (CCBD) at Children's Health Children's Medical Center Dallas. Ms. Farkash earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. After starting her career in the pediatric intensive care unit, she transitioned to pediatric hematology/oncology and has been providing care to CCBD patients admitted to the hematology/oncology floor since 2011. She has been nominated for Advanced Practice Provider Excellence Awards in multiple categories through the years, and she won the Research and Innovation award in 2016. In addition to her clinical work, she frequently serves as a preceptor for nurse practitioner students, and she lectures nurses and advance practice providers in and outside of the hospital. She is also a member of the American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology (ASPHO) and the Children's Oncology Group (COG).
