Biography
Scott Roberts, M.D., is a Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in obstetrics and gynecology, maternal-fetal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology infectious disease, and epidemiology.
Dr. Roberts earned his medical degree at the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the HCA Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. He gained advanced training in obstetrics and gynecology infectious disease and in maternal-fetal medicine through fellowships at Baylor College of Medicine and UT Southwestern, respectively.
Board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and maternal-fetal medicine, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2003. Previously, he served as Director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at HCA Wesley Medical Center.
Dr. Roberts is the Medical Director of the High-Risk Unit at Parkland Memorial Hospital and a member of numerous committees in the Parkland Health system. He is also Chair of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) 2 at UT Southwestern and a member of the IRB Executive Committee.
In addition, he is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, and the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, among other professional organizations, and he serves as an ad hoc reviewer for Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and JAMA.
The author of numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals related to his areas of interest, he has also contributed chapters to books, including Current Medical Diagnosis and Treatment, Williams Obstetrics Study Guide, and Critical Care Obstetrics.
Personal Note
Outside of work, Dr. Roberts enjoys going on family vacations, learning about ancient history, reading novels, and listening to music.
