Biography

Shira Bass, AGACNP-BC, is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner in the Department of Neurology - Headache at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Ms. Bass completed her undergraduate degree from Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing in New York City. She then then earned her Master of Nursing from Hofstra University in 2020. She worked as a registered nurse in the emergency room for six prior to becoming a nurse practitioner. In 2019 she was selected out of 230 other nurses as the recipient of the Ann Lengyel Nurse of the Year Award in Long Island Jewish Medical Center. After completing her Masters degree, she worked in vascular neurology at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. Her particular areas of interest include migraine, stroke, and dementia management.
