Biography

Shuyao (Susan) Zhang, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in endocrinology, with a focus on diabetes and lipid metabolism.

Dr. Zhang earned her medical degree at the University of Florida College of Medicine. She completed her internal medicine residency and endocrinology fellowship training at UT Southwestern, where she served as Chief Fellow.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine, endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism, Dr. Zhang joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2024.

Dr. Zhang is a member of the American Diabetes Association, the Endocrine Society, the National Lipid Association, and The Obesity Society.

She has delivered presentations and published several academic articles related to her areas of expertise.
