Biography
Simrat Morris, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), systemic lupus erythematosus, and vasculitis.
Dr. Morris earned her medical degree at UT Southwestern Medical School. She completed both her residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in pediatric rheumatology at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. She then completed an additional one-year pediatric clinical research fellowship at UT Southwestern.
Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in rheumatology and general pediatrics, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023.
Dr. Morris is a member of several professional societies, including the American College of Rheumatology, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance.
She has held prominent roles on several committees, including serving as a grant reviewer for the Arthritis Foundation’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and as Vice Chair of the UT Southwestern Families in Training Childhood Obesity Intervention Program. She was also the JIA Advisory Committee Ultrasound Work Group Liaison for the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance.
Dr. Morris has contributed to peer-reviewed publications and delivered numerous presentations and lectures in her areas of expertise.

In her free time, Dr. Morris enjoys reading, hiking, and traveling with her husband and children.
