Biography
Sonia C. Patel, MPH, MSN, APRN, AGACNP-BC, AOCNP, is a board-certified Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Her clinical focus is in bone marrow transplant and hematological disorders. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from McGill University and a Master of Public Health from Brown University. After working in the public health sector developing a strong foundation in qualitative methods and clinical trials, she decided to pursue further education as an advanced care practice provider. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing from the MGH Institute of Health Professions and has spent her nursing career working in oncology. She is certified by the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation as an Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP) and is a member of the Oncology Nursing Society.
