Biography

Sowmya Krishnan, M.D., is a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Dr. Krishnan earned her medical degree at the Maulana Azad Medical College at the University of Delhi and completed a residency in pediatrics at Lady Hardinge Medical College, also at the University of Delhi. She then completed an additional residency in pediatrics at Hurley Medical Center in Michigan, serving as Chief Resident, and received advanced training through a pediatric endocrinology fellowship at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.

Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in pediatric endocrinology, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023.

Dr. Krishna is co-chair of the Diagnostics and Therapeutics Committee for the Pediatric Endocrine Society and a member of the Pediatric Bone Mineral Research Working Group for the American Society of Bone Mineral Research.
