Biography

Stephen Reed Chorney, M.D., M.P.H., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in pediatric otolaryngology.

Dr. Chorney earned his medical degree at the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He completed a residency in otolaryngology at the State University of New York Upstate Medical University and then received advanced training in pediatric otolaryngology through a fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He also holds a Master of Public Health degree in health systems and policy from Rutgers School of Public Health.

Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery, Dr. Chorney joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2020.

Dr. Chorney’s clinical and research interests include pediatric aerodigestive disorders, airway reconstruction, and voice disorders. He serves as a peer reviewer for The Laryngoscope, Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery, and Annals of Otology, Rhinology & Laryngology.

Dr. Chorney is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Medical Association, and the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology.
