Biography
Teshekia Hawkins, DNP, AGACNP-BC, is a board-certified adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner in the Department of Internal Medicine – Infectious Diseases and Geographic Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Ms. Hawkins earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Arkansas and completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at the University of Arkansas in 2016, specializing in adult-gerontology acute care. She has practiced in infectious diseases since 2019, developing expertise in managing complex infectious conditions across diverse patient populations. Ms. Hawkins is a member of the Infectious Disease Nurse Practitioner Society of America. Throughout her career, she has found deep fulfillment in caring for patients during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. She is committed to delivering evidence-based, compassionate care while advocating for patient education, antimicrobial stewardship, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
