Biography
Theo Sottero, M.D., Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine and a member of the Division of Hospital Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
Originally from Berkeley, California, Dr. Sottero holds a bachelor’s degree in molecular and cellular biology from the University of California, Berkeley. He then earned his medical degree at the University of Washington, where he also completed a Ph.D. in cancer drug development at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center with James Olson, M.D., Ph.D. He completed his internal medicine residency training at UT Southwestern Medical Center. His work has led to peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national conferences.
Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Sottero joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023.
His clinical and academic interests include care for underserved populations, transitions of care, quality improvement, and academic research.
Personal Note
Outside of work, Dr. Sottero enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and rock climbing.
