Biography

Vietvuong Vo, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in clinical ultrasonography and medical education.

Dr. Vo earned his medical degree at UT Southwestern. After completing a residency in emergency medicine at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, he returned to UT Southwestern to gain advanced training through a fellowship in clinical ultrasonography.

Certified in advanced cardiac, advanced trauma, pediatric advanced, and basic life support care, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2022.

Dr. Vo is a member of several professional organizations, including the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine, for which he serves on the Ultrasound, Research, and Education committees.

At UT Southwestern, he is part of the clinical ultrasound teaching faculty and is the primary investigator on a research project to improve quality assessments of ultrasound scans.

In 2018, Dr. Vo received the Medical Student of the Year Award from the Texas College of Emergency Physicians.
