Wesley Nilsson, M.D.

Biography

Wesley Nilsson, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, fibroids, and endometriosis.

Dr. Nilsson earned his medical degree at the American University of the Caribbean. He completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Yale New Haven Health’s Bridgeport Hospital and received advanced training through a minimally invasive gynecologic surgery fellowship at the University of Connecticut’s John Dempsey Hospital and Saint Francis Hospital. He also earned a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis on healthcare management at Urbana University in Ohio and a Certificate in Clinical and Translational Research from the University of Connecticut.

Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2024.

Dr. Nilsson is a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and serves on its Quality and Safety Improvement Delegation Committee. He is also a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and the American Medical Association.

He has delivered presentations and published peer-reviewed academic articles related to his areas of expertise.

When he’s not at work, Dr. Nilsson enjoys hiking, skiing and snowboarding, reading, and being with family.
