Biography
Whitney Cameron, D.O., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She is a pediatric hospitalist.
Dr. Cameron earned her medical degree at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed a residency in pediatrics at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Missouri and received advanced training through a pediatric hospital medicine fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
She also received a Master of Science in medical science from the University of North Texas Health Science Center and a Master of Science in clinical and translational research with a graduate certificate in medical education from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in pediatric hospital medicine, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023.
Dr. Cameron is a member of the Academic Pediatric Association, the Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society, and the Sigma Sigma Phi Honorary Osteopathic Service Fraternity.
During her fellowship, she was engaged in promoting equitable treatment of children and trainees through medical education. Her personal goal is to prepare, advance, and promote the next generation of physicians who are equipped to care for a global, diverse population.
In addition to her current clinical role as a pediatric hospitalist at Children’s Medical Center Dallas, Dr. Cameron serves as a faculty mentor for UT Southwestern medical students and pediatric hospital medicine fellows with an interest in health equity.
