Biography
Aaron Van Wright, M.D., is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in outpatient adult and geriatric behavioral health management.
Dr. Van Wright earned his medical degree at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He completed both his residency in psychiatry and fellowship in geriatric psychiatry at UT Southwestern.
Certified in psychiatry and geriatric psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 1997.
Dr. Van Wright is an attending psychiatrist in the Parkland Health & Hospital System, where he also serves on the Physician Peer Review Committee. He is a member of the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry, the Texas Medical Association, and the Dallas County Medical Society.
His clinical interests include diagnosing and treating disorders of mood, thought, and cognition, as well as behavioral health management of chronic pain. He is also involved in mentoring and supervising medical students, psychiatry residents, geriatric psychiatry fellows, and pain anesthesiology fellows.
Dr. Van Wright’s publications include a contribution to Pain Management for Clinicians: A Guide to Assessment and Treatment.
