Biography

Abbie Ewell, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in addiction medicine and consult liaison psychiatry.

After earning her medical degree at UT Southwestern, Dr. Ewell completed a residency in psychiatry at Cambridge Health Alliance. Certified in psychiatry and addiction medicine by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2012.

Dr. Ewell leads a Consult Liaison Psychiatry Team for the Parkland Health & Hospital System. She serves on the UT Southwestern Student Assistance Committee, the Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship Committee, and the Parkland Addictions Committee.

She is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

In 2021, Dr. Ewell was named the PGY4-Attending of the Year and Mentor of the Year by the UT Southwestern Psychiatric Residency Program.
