Biography

Ajitha Raju, M.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in hospital medicine.

Dr. Raju earned her medical degree at Andhra Medical College in India. She completed an internal medicine residency at Michigan State University’s McLaren Regional Medical Center.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023. She worked in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for 17 years before joining UT Southwestern and previously served as Physician’s Lead at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth.

Dr. Raju’s clinical interests include hospital medicine with a focus on effective documentation and reducing patient length of stay; the scope of obesity medicine in cardiology and sudden cardiac death in young South Asians; and oncology.

Personal Note

When she’s not at work, Dr. Raju enjoys traveling, watching movies, and listening to music. She also loves to exercise and participate in fitness-related activities.
