Biography
Amitha Thudi, M.D., is a Clinical Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Division of Hospital Medicine. She specializes in hospital medicine and health care quality and management.
Dr. Thudi earned her medical degree at the Siddhartha Medical College in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India. She completed residencies in internal medicine at UT Southwestern, St. Paul University Hospital, and the Dallas Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine and by the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians in health care quality and management, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2006.
Dr. Thudi’s clinical focus is on providing evidence-based, high-value, quality care to hospitalized patients. A member of several committees at UT Southwestern, she also works as a Physician Advisor for William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital to ensure effective and efficient utilization of health care resources.
She is a member of several professional associations, including the American College of Physicians, the Dallas County Medical Society, and the Society of Hospital Medicine.
Personal Note
When she’s not at work, Dr. Thudi enjoys cooking and spending time with her twin boys and other family members. She speaks English, Telugu, and Hindi.
