Biography

Anamika Goenka, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in hospital medicine.

Dr. Goenka earned her medical degree at the University of Bombay in Mumbai. She completed a residency in internal medicine at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, New York.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with focused practice in hospital medicine, Dr. Goenka previously served at UT Southwestern from 2016 to 2019, during which time she was the lead for a project called ENGAGE, which was aimed at implementing two-way texting to enhance confidential communication within the medical center. She rejoined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2022.

As a hospitalist, Dr. Goenka cares for diverse populations with complex medical illnesses. She has expertise in developing electronic medical records (EMRs) and in hospital quality improvement.

She is a member of the American College of Physicians.

Personal Note

Dr. Goenka’s interests outside of medicine include cooking, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.
