Biography

Angelica Knickerbocker, M.D., M.P.H., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in full-spectrum women’s health, particularly family planning and contraception; prenatal care and high-risk pregnancy; postpartum care and the fourth trimester; medical and surgical management of abnormal uterine bleeding; and menopause and hormone management. She provides minimally invasive surgery for her patients and is certified in using the da Vinci Surgical System.

Dr. Knickerbocker earned her medical degree and a master’s degree in public health at the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Miami and Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she served as Administrative Chief Resident.

She joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2024. She previously served as Vice Chair of the obstetrics and gynecology department at Methodist Dallas Medical Center.

Prior to medical school, Dr. Knickerbocker served as a Clinical Research Associate in the Miller School of Medicine’s complementary and integrative medicine department, which provides her a unique lens through which to care for patients. She is also Six Sigma certified in process improvement and has served in leadership roles related to quality improvement.

She is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Menopause Society, the Texas Medical Association, and the Dallas County Medical Society.

Dr. Knickerbocker has delivered presentations and published peer-reviewed academic articles related to her areas of expertise.

Personal Note

When she’s not at work, Dr. Knickerbocker enjoys hiking her way through each national park with her husband and two kids, weightlifting, and doing Pilates. She also enjoys the arts, including theater, music, and dance.
