Biography

Angelica Knickerbocker, M.D., M.P.H., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. As a hospitalist, she specializes in obstetrical and gynecologic emergencies and inpatient obstetric care. She is passionate about postpartum care and the fourth trimester. As a former practitioner of General Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Knickerbocker is certified in robotic surgery using the da Vinci Surgical System. She currently serves as the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology's Post-Clerkship Director and Advisor for medical students pursuing careers in Ob/Gyn. In this role, she leads the Ob/Gyn Residency Essentials course.

Dr. Knickerbocker earned her medical degree and a master’s degree in public health at the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Miami and Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she served as Administrative Chief Resident.

She joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2024. She previously served as Vice Chair of the Obstetrics and Gynecology department at Methodist Dallas Medical Center.

Prior to medical school, Dr. Knickerbocker served as a Clinical Research Associate in the Miller School of Medicine’s complementary and integrative medicine department, which provides her a unique lens through which to care for patients. She is also Six Sigma certified in process improvement and has served in leadership roles related to quality improvement.

She is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Menopause Society, the Texas Medical Association, and the Dallas County Medical Society.

Dr. Knickerbocker has delivered presentations and published peer-reviewed academic articles related to her areas of expertise.

Personal Note

When she’s not at work, Dr. Knickerbocker enjoys hiking her way through each national park with her husband and two kids, weightlifting, and doing Pilates. She also enjoys the arts, including theater, music, and dance.
