Biography

Angeline Wang, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in treating adult and pediatric retinal and vitreous conditions, including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, and inherited retinal degenerations.

Dr. Wang earned her medical degree at the University of Michigan Medical School. She completed a residency in ophthalmology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and received advanced training in vitreoretinal surgery through a fellowship at UC Irvine's Gavin Herbert Eye Institute.

She joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2019. 

Dr. Wang has delivered numerous presentations and published several academic articles. She’s a member the American Society of Retina Specialists, Women in Ophthalmology, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

In 2016, she earned the Resident Innovation Award for her contributions to the residency program at the University of Wisconsin’s Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. In 2019, UC Irvine residents voted her the recipient of the Outstanding Resident Teaching Service by a Fellow award. She was included in D Magazine's Best Doctors in Collin County list for 2021.
