Biography

Annahita Beheshti, DMSc, PA-C, is a board-certified Physician Assistant in the Department of Surgery - Outpatient Colorectal Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. A Dallas, Texas, native, Dr. Beheshti earned her undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Dallas in 2010, her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from West Liberty University in 2016, and her Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) degree in 2020, with an emphasis on Lyme disease in the pediatric patient population. Dr. Beheshti practiced outpatient pediatrics for approximately three years in western Pennsylvania, where Lyme disease is highly prevalent, particularly among children, before returning to her hometown of Dallas to practice family medicine for approximately six years. Her family medicine experience emphasized preventive care, chronic disease management, and hormone replacement therapy for appropriately selected patients. She now specializes in outpatient colorectal surgery and is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered, evidence-based care. Dr. Beheshti received the Distinguished Clinical Preceptor Mentor Award from the West Coast University Physician Assistant Program in 2025 in recognition of her dedication to clinical education. Outside of medicine, she enjoys traveling with her husband and their two young sons.
