Biography

Asha Rajashekar, M.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in internal medicine and nephrology and focuses her clinical and research interests on improving patient care using electronic medical records (EMR), inpatient care of patients with kidney disease, quality improvement, and patient safety.

Dr. Rajashekar earned her medical degree at the University of Mysore in India. She completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and received advanced training in nephrology through a fellowship at Yale University.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in nephrology, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2012.

Dr. Rajashekar is a member of the American Society of Nephrology, the Dallas County Medical Society, and the Texas Medical Association.

Personal Note

Dr. Rajashekar’s interests outside of medicine include her family, music, yoga, and traveling.
