Biography

Ashley Birmingham, M.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in obstetrical emergencies, inpatient obstetric care, and patient safety.

Dr. Birmingham earned her medical degree at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. She also earned a master’s degree in medical sciences at Boston University. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2021.

Since 2023, Dr. Birmingham has served as the Medical Director over Midwifery Services at UT Southwestern William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital.

She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She is also a member of other professional organizations, including the Society of OB/GYN Hospitalists, the Association of American Medical Colleges, and the Dallas County Medical Society.

Dr. Birmingham contributed to the book Shelf-Life Obstetrics and Gynecology.

In 2018, she was named a “Mom-Approved Doctor” by the magazine DFWChild.

Personal Note

When she’s not at work, Dr. Birmingham enjoys spending time with her husband and children and being outdoors. She also has an interest in nutrition and fitness.
