Biography

Bruce Stewart, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in the practice of hospital medicine.

Dr. Stewart earned his medical degree at Louisiana State University Health Shreveport and completed a residency in internal medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Stewart joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023 after spending the previous five years in New Orleans at Ochsner Medical Center. He spent most of his career at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City, specializing in both HIV medicine and hospital medicine.

Dr. Stewart has published peer-reviewed academic articles related to his areas of expertise, and in 2010 he earned the Excellence in Teaching award at Weill Cornell School of Medicine.

Personal Note

When he’s not at work, Dr. Stewart enjoys exploring Dallas neighborhoods and the local restaurant scene. He also enjoys traveling to visit friends and family and attending live theater and sporting events.
