Biography

Chen Shi, M.D., is a Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in cardiothoracic and liver transplant anesthesia.

Dr. Shi earned his medical degree at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed a residency in anesthesiology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and received advanced training through an obstetric anesthesiology fellowship at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine.

Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 1996.

Dr. Shi is the Director of Liver Transplant Anesthesia and a member of the Division of Cardiothoracic Anesthesia at UT Southwestern.

He is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the International Liver Transplantation Society.

Personal Note

When he’s not at work, Dr. Shi is an avid pickleball player.
