Biography

Cherine Hamid, M.D., is a Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in complex gynecologic surgery, vaginal surgery, and uterine fibroids.

Dr. Hamid earned her medical degree at the Boston University School of Medicine and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Boston Medical Center.

Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2006.

Dr. Hamid is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a National Board Examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a former Ad Hoc Executive of the Southwestern Gynecologic Assembly and is a member of the Texas Medical Association and the Dallas County Medical Society.

She is Medical Director of Parkland Health’s Gynecology Clinic and serves on multiple committees at UT Southwestern and Parkland Health.

Dr. Hamid has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed articles and delivered multiple lectures related to her areas of expertise.
