Biography

David Owens, M.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in chronic pelvic pain, vaginal surgery, and teaching.

Dr. Owens earned his medical degree at UT Southwestern Medical School. He completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at UT Southwestern and Parkland Memorial Hospital and served as Chief Resident in 1994. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in pre-medicine studies at Texas A&M University.

Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2010.

Dr. Owens is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the International Pelvic Pain Society.

He has delivered presentations, contributed to the book Williams Gynecology, and published peer-reviewed academic articles related to his areas of expertise.

Personal Note

When he’s not at work, Dr. Owens enjoys vintage motorcycles, live music, saxophone, and road trips.
