How bone optimization, novel procedure help heal pelvic insufficiency fractures

Ishvinder Singh Grewal, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in general orthopaedic trauma and pelvis, hip, and knee trauma, including both fractures and soft tissue injuries. He also an expert in hip and knee reconstruction secondary to acute or old trauma.
Dr. Grewal earned his medical degree at Imperial College London and completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the Royal London Hospital, the busiest Level 1 Trauma Center in North Europe. He was also a senior resident at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. He received advanced training in hip and knee reconstruction and soft tissue through a fellowship at Barts and The London, followed by additional fellowships in orthopaedic surgery at Parkland Memorial Hospital/UT Southwestern and the Florida Orthopaedic Institute.
He joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2021.
Dr. Grewal is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons, AO Trauma North America, the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, and the British Orthopaedic Association.
He is the author of numerous articles and book chapters, and he serves as a reviewer for The Bone and Joint Journal and Strategies in Trauma and Limb Reconstruction. He had delivered presentations worldwide and is also involved in orthopaedic resident training both locally and nationally through the Orthopaedic Trauma Association.
