Biography

Jason Newman, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine and the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he serves as Medical Director of and treats patients of all ages in the William T. and Gay F. Solomon General Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Clinic.   

Dr. Newman earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. After completing his residency in internal medicine-pediatrics at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, he worked at a federally qualified health center (FQHC) treating the underserved in Memphis, Tennessee, for six years. 

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2014.

Dr. Newman’s current interests include safety and quality improvement in the ambulatory setting. He serves as a UT Southwestern Academic Colleges mentor and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Physicians and a member of the Society of General Internal Medicine.

Among his many accolades, he received the UT Southwestern Internal Medicine Clerkship Outstanding General Internal Medicine Ambulatory Teaching Award. 

Personal Note

When he is not at work, Dr. Newman loves spending time with his wife and four children, running, camping, and volunteering in a local Cub Scout and Scout group.
