Biography

Jennifer Afton Cooper, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in minimally invasive gynecology and treats conditions such as endometriosis, pelvic pain, fibroids, and abnormal uterine bleeding.

Dr. Cooper earned her medical degree at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and gained advanced training through a minimally invasive gynecologic surgery fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Florida.

Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Cooper joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2025.

She is a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Personal Note

When she’s not at work, Dr. Cooper enjoys playing video games, cooking, spin biking, and taking art classes.
