Biography

Karanjit Sandhu, M.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in general cardiology, noninvasive cardiac imaging, nuclear cardiology, and structural heart disease.

Dr. Sandhu earned his medical degree at Kasturba Medical College in India. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Rochester General Hospital and gained advanced training in cardiovascular medicine through a fellowship at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023.

Dr. Sandhu’s research interests include the role of psychological health in cardiovascular diseases, cardiovascular screening in athletes, physician well-being in the current medical era, and the effects of bureaucratic burden in health care. He has delivered several presentations and published numerous academic articles related to his areas of expertise.

He is an active member of the American College of Cardiology.

Personal Note

When he is not at work, Dr. Sandhu enjoys reading; hiking in nature; studying behavioral psychology, philosophy, and epistemology; and playing tennis, badminton, and other racquet sports.
