Biography

Kathryn (“Katy”) Buswold, MSN, APRN, AGACNP-BC, is a board-certified adult gerontology-acute care nurse practitioner (AGACNP) at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She is credentialed through the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and currently specializes in caring for adults with pulmonary hypertension and cystic fibrosis.

Originally from Colleyville, Texas, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.

Prior to arriving at UT Southwestern, where Ms. Buswold initially worked as a transplant coordinator in the University Hospital Heart and Lung Clinic, she was a registered nurse in the cardiovascular intensive care unit at Baylor University Medical Center.

Over the years she has cared for many heart and lung transplant, cystic fibrosis, and pulmonary hypertension patients, which fueled her desire to become a nurse practitioner.
