Leslie Herrera-Martinez, M.P.A.S., PA-C

Biography

Leslie Herrera-Martinez, M.P.A.S., PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant in the Department of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Ms. Herrera-Martinez graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and a minor in economics from Wellesley College in 1998. In 2009, she earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from UT Southwestern School of Health Professions, where she was inducted into the Pi Alpha Honor Society.

She brings to her current role a depth of clinical experience, having worked in both hospital and private practice sectors, with experience in internal medicine, emergency medicine, family medicine, urgent care, and hospitalist medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Texas Academy of Physician Assistants.

Ms. Herrera-Martinez enjoys reading medical journals and helping educate the next generation of physician assistant students. She collaborates with the UT Southwestern PA Program to precept students and leads a group each academic year to teach clinical examination skills on Thursday evenings.

Personal Note

She has been married to her college sweetheart for more than 25 years. They have raised two wonderful children who are the joys of their lives. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her family and experimenting with new recipes.
