Biography

Maria C. Veling, M.D., is a Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in pediatric otolaryngology and inhalant allergies.

Dr. Veling earned her medical degree at the University of Louisville, where she also completed a residency in otolaryngology. Soon after that training, she developed an interest in allergies, leading her to become a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy.

Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery in 1999, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2013.

Dr. Veling’s clinical and research interests include the interaction of allergies with common pediatric disorders such as sinusitis, sleep-disordered breathing, and chronic otitis media. She serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for International Forum of Allergy & Rhinology, American Board of Otolaryngology, and The Laryngoscope.

She is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, the InterAmerican Association of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology, and the Society of University Otolaryngologists - Head and Neck Surgeons.

Dr. Veling holds the Beth and Marvin C. "Cub" Culbertson Professorship in Pediatric Otolaryngology.
