Biography

Marielisa Lopez, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Dr. Lopez earned her medical degree at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine and completed her residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheaton, Illinois.

Certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2020.

Dr. Lopez was attracted to the PM&R specialty by its holistic approach to therapy. She enjoys collaborating with the rehabilitation team to educate and encourage patients in their journey toward functional independence and improved quality of life.

She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
