Biography

Martha (“Marty”) Mangum, MSN, APRN, ACNP-BC, is a board-certified acute care nurse practitioner (ACNP) in the Division of Thoracic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. 

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Queens University of Charlotte in North Carolina, and then earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree at Madonna University in Michigan.

In addition to her thoracic surgery expertise, she brings additional knowledge and experience from working as a nurse practitioner in a neurosurgical intensive care unit.

Ms. Mangum is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society, and the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses. She is a contributing author for multiple publications, including academic books.
