Biography
Matthew Johnson, D.P.M., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center and is a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine. He specializes in the surgical treatment of foot and ankle conditions.
Dr. Johnson earned his doctoral degree in podiatric medicine at the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. He completed a residency in foot and ankle surgery at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Denver, Colorado, and received advanced training in foot and ankle surgery and diabetic limb salvage through a fellowship at UT Southwestern.
Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine, Dr. Johnson joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2019.
Dr. Johnson is a member of several professional associations, including the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the American Diabetes Association, and the American Podiatric Medical Association. He serves on the Orthopaedic Task Force for the Operating Room at UT Southwestern and on the Podiatry Services Committee for Parkland Health & Hospital System.
He has delivered numerous invited lectures and published several academic articles.
In 2015, he received the Jerry D. Brant Leadership Award from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science.
