Biography
Michele Troutman Gifford, M.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in pediatric and adolescent gynecology.
Dr. Gifford earned her medical degree at Howard University College of Medicine. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where she served as Advocacy Chief Resident. She received advanced training through a pediatric and adolescent gynecology fellowship at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston.
She joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2024.
Dr. Gifford treats conditions such as menstrual abnormalities, pubertal concerns, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), chronic pelvic pain, primary amenorrhea, müllerian anomalies, and vulvar concerns.
She has delivered poster presentations, participated in invited talks, and published peer-reviewed academic articles related to her areas of expertise.
Dr. Gifford is a member of several professional organizations, including the North American Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the American Medical Association.
Personal Note
When she’s not at work, Dr. Gifford enjoys traveling, writing, and playing with her senior cat, Brady.
