Biography
Mohsin Khan, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in child and adolescent psychiatry.
Dr. Khan earned his medical degree at the Medical University of Lodz in Poland. He completed a residency in adult psychiatry at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and received advanced training through a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry in child and adult psychiatry, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2018.
Dr. Khan serves at the Children’s Health Rees-Jones Center for Foster Care Excellence, caring for the mental health needs of individuals who are involved in the child welfare system. He also provides care for post-adopted children and adolescents. He is the Training Director for the UT Southwestern Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship.
He also serves on several committees, including the Education Policy Committee, the Foster Care Oversight Committee, the CAP Fellowship Selection Committee, the Psychiatry Clerkship Education Committee and the Rees-Jones Center’s Advocacy and Policy Committee.
A member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Dr. Khan serves on the organization’s Early Child Psychiatrist Committee. He belongs to the Texas Society of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, for which he serves as a Program Committee Chair. In addition, he is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the Texas Society of Psychiatric Physicians.
Dr. Khan has been an ad hoc reviewer for academic journals, including International Journal on Child Maltreatment, American Journal of Orthopsychiatry, and Academic Psychiatry.
In 2024, Dr. Khan received the Distinguished Alumni Early Career Achievement Award from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.
Personal Note
When he's not working, Dr. Khan enjoys football, soccer and cricket, traveling, and gardening.
