Biography

Nainesh Shah, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in hospital medicine.

Dr. Shah earned his medical degree at UT Health Science Center at San Antonio, and he completed a residency and chief residency in internal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from Washington University in St. Louis.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2014.

Dr. Shah serves as a Deputy Medical Information Officer for Parkland Health & Hospital System and as Medical Director of Innovation, Technology, and Design in the Division of Hospital Medicine at Parkland. He is a member of the American College of Physicians and the Society of Hospital Medicine.

Dr. Shah’s clinical and research interests include clinical informatics, high-value care, and quality improvement. He has delivered numerous national and regional lectures.

Personal Note

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Shah’s interests include his family, traveling, and cheering for the Cowboys and Mavericks.
